Leigh J. McCloskey (b. June 21, 1955, Los Angeles, California) is best known publicly as an American film and television actor. He was classically trained as an actor at the Juilliard School in Lincoln Center New York. His acting career has spanned over four decades and includes, theatre, movies, television and voice-overs. He is also a visual philosopher, author, teacher and artist. His success as an actor allowed him to work as an artist and visual philosopher privately and deeply. His artwork premiered with the Rolling Stones on their most recent Bigger Bang Tour. He has written, illustrated and published five books of his works, including Tarot ReVisioned, In the Splendor, Adam Reborn & Eve Restored: A Romance in Two Parts, Codex Tor:Winter Solstice-Part One and his Grimoire that was featured with the Rolling Stones. As an actor McCloskey is perhaps most widely known for his role as Mitch Cooper on the _CBS soap opera Dallas. He was a series regular on Dallas from 1980 to 1982 and made brief appearances in 1985 and 1988.
He married Carla Reinke, director, assistant director, author and production executive in 1978, and they have two children, Caytlyn Alexandra (born 1982) and Brighton Aubreigh (born 1987).
Besides Dallas, McCloskey has appeared in a number of other soap roles including Dr. Zach Kelton & Ethan Asher (Santa Barbara 1988-90), Dr. Michael Baranski & Damian Smith (General Hospital 1992-96), Kurt Costner (The Young and the Restless 1997), and Drake Faraday (One Life to Live 2000).
His other film and television roles have included Lucky Stiff (1988), Fraternity Vacation (1985), Just One of the Guys (1985), Inferno directed by Dario Argento (1980), The Bermuda Depths (1978), Alexander: The Other Side of Dawn (1977), Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Runaway (1976), and Rich Man, Poor Man (1976).
He also guest starred on numerous television shows including two Star Trek episodes - the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Warlord" and the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Field of Fire", in which he played Joran Dax.
