Lee Myung-bak ( ) (born December 19, 1941) is the President of South Korea. He was a former mayor of Seoul and a member of the Grand National Party. Lee has stated that he wants to restore better relations with the United States for a greater emphasis on free market solutions.

With 48.7% of the vote, he defeated rivals Chung Dong-young (26%) and Lee Hoi-chang (15%) in the December 2007 presidential election. blank">Angus Reid page on South Korea.
