"Leave (Get Out)" is a pop rock/R&B song written by Soulshock, Kenneth Karlin, Alexander Cantrell and Philip "Silky" White for American singer-songwriter JoJo's debut album, JoJo (2004). Released in February 2004 as the album's lead single, the Soulshock & Karlin-produced track became an international hit, peaking at number twelve on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and number two in the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. In addition, it went gold by the RIAA in late October 2004.
When the single reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Top 40 Mainstream, JoJo became, at age thirteen, the youngest solo artist to have a number-one single in the United States and also the youngest nominee for a MTV Video Music Award, when its music video (directed by Erik White) was nominated for "Best New Artist" in 2004.
In 2006, a Singapore Idol contestant, Gayle Nerva, sang this song in Spectacular 2 but was voted out in the same round.
"Leave" is a song by R.E.M. which is featured on their 1996 album New Adventures in Hi-Fi. It was written primarily by the band's drummer Bill Berry. At 7 minutes and 18 seconds, it is the longest song ever released by the band. The song was never played live until the second European leg of band's Around the Sun tour during the summer of 2005. A shortened version of the song was added to the regular set for most of the concerts played in May and June. .
A remixed, radically-different version of the song appeared on the soundtrack to the film A Life Less Ordinary in 1997 and was included on the bonus disc of the limited two-disc edition of In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988-2003 in 2003.
