Kunal Kapoor (Hindi:कुणाल कपूर, born 18 October 1975 in New Delhi, India) is an Indian actor.
Kunal Kapoor is a talented actor who made his debut in Bollywood as an assistant director for Rakesh Mehra's Aks. Later he entered Bollywood with a new image (as an actor) staring opposite Tabu in Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities (2004). The film did not do well at the box office. He came into prominence with his following film Rang De Basanti (2006). The film was critically and commercially successful, and it was India's official entry to the Oscars and the Bafta's. His performance was acclaimed and he received a Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award nomination. He has done a number of plays and has worked with Motley, a theatre group by Naseeruddin Shah. He has also done a couple of ads. A film-buff, Kunal loves everything that goes into the making of a film- editing, cinematography, production design and all the other technicalities. He has recently decided to try out scriptwriting. His first 2007 film release Hattrick failed to do well at the box office. His next two films both of which were Yashraj Films: Laaga Chunari Mein Daag and Aaja Nachle (2007) failed to do well at the box office but helped his career reach new heights. His next filmd are Sajid Nadiadwala's Kambhakt Ishq starring Akshay Kumar and also Kareena Kapoor,Ramesh Sippy's untitled film and Siddhart Anand's untitled film. He is currently the brand ambassador of Indian Terrain and Thums Up (India).Kunal is into the Art of Living, and practices Goju-Ryu karate — a form of martial arts.
Kunal Kapoor is a former Indian film actor of British and Indian descent. He is the eldest son of Shashi Kapoor and the late Jennifer Kendal.
This Kunal Kapoor is not the same person who acted in Rang De Basanti or Laaga Chunari Mein Daag.
His wife is the daughter of director Ramesh Sippy. Kunal and Sheena have two children, son Zahaan and daughter Shaira.
