Kirk Thomas Cameron (born October 12, 1970) is an American actor, director, and Christian evangelist who is most notable for his role as "Mike Seaver" on the sitcom Growing Pains. Cameron is currently a partner in the evangelical Christian ministry The Way of the Master.
He and Chelsea are among the founders of Camp Firefly and The Firefly Foundation, which sponsor camping trips for terminally-ill children & their families.
His father is Robert Cameron (I) and his mother is Barbara Cameron (IV).
Brother of actress Candace Cameron Bure, Bridgette and Melissa.
Has six children: 4 adopted: Jack (b. 1996), Isabella (b. 1997), Anna (b. 1998), Luke (b. 2000). 2 biological: Olivia Rose (b. 18 July 2001); James Thomas (b. 13 April 2003).
Used to be neighbors with Adam Rich (II), of "Eight Is Enough" (1977) fame.
Is a vegetarian.
Parents named him after Captain Kirk, the William Shatner character from the original "Star Trek" (1966) series.
