Kent Masters King (b. August 5, 1974 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actress currently appearing on the daytime soap opera General Hospital.
Kent began her career as Julie Williams on the primetime soap Knots Landing (1988-1992). She filled in for Victoria Rowell in 2000 when Rowell took a hiatus from The Young and the Restless, then joined Port Charles briefly in 2003 as the mysterious and beautiful Imani. She began a recurring role as Dr. Lainey Winters on General Hospital on April 1, 2005, and was upgraded to contract status in December of 2005. In 2007, King became an original cast member of the General Hospital prime-time spin-off General Hospital: Night Shift while maintaining her day job on GH.
Kent is the daughter of Egyptologist and actress Alfreda Masters (who spent many years as an extra General Hospital at the nurses' station), and was named for an Egyptian goddess.
Kent Masters King joined the cast of ABC's daytime drama "Port Charles" in June of 2003, just a few months after ABC Daytime President Brian Frons announced it was being cancelled. Kent was born in Los Angeles, California on August 5, 1974. She played Julie Williams in the long running primetime soap "Knots Landing" from 1988 to 1992. She eventually earned a degree in Cinema-Television from the University of Southern CA. Kent has made guest appearances in such TV shows as "The Parkers," "The Steve Harvey Show," "Smart Guy," "The Jamie Foxx Show," "The Wayans Bros." and "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air." In 2000, she subbed for Victoria Rowell in the CBS's "The Young and the Restless". She made her directing debut with the film "Manolias Funeral," which won the Black American Cinema Society Award for "Best Short Film."
