Keith Szarabajka was born on December 2, 1952, in Oak Park, Illinois, USA. He attended University of Chicago, as well as Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He further studied acting at the Organic Theater in Chicago in 1972-1978. His surname, pronounced "Sharah-bike-ah", is Polish, and means "gray fairytale."
His acting resume is extensive, appearing in numerous well-known television programs including The X-Files, Star Trek: Voyager, Charmed, 24, Max Steel, The Inside and Law & Order , but he is best known for his role as Mickey Kostmayer in the 1980s hit show The Equalizer, as well as for his recurring role as vampire hunter Daniel Holtz in the cult series Angel, the spin-off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He also played the lead role in Stephen King's Golden Years. Szarabajka has also contributed his voice to several audio books, notably Fear Nothing and Seize the Night by Dean Koontz. Additionally, he provided the voice for antagonist Dmitri Yuriev in the Xenosaga series. He has most recently landed the role of "Stephens" in the next Batman movie, The Dark Knight.
He has two sons: Caleb and Jack.
