Karan Arjun (Devanagari: करन अरजुन Nastaliq: کرن اَرجُن) is an Indian Bollywood film starring- Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Kajol, Mamta Kulkarni, Raakhee, Amrish Puri, Johnny Lever and Ranjeet. The film was directed by Rakesh Roshan, and written by Ravi Kapoor and Sachin Bhowmick. Karan Arjun is a mix of an upbeat Bollywood musical, religious overtones and an action movie. The film released on January 13, 1995.

Durga gets married in an India joint family and gives birth to two sons, and names them Karan and Arjun, which is the title of this movie. Her husband gets killed by the wealthy landlord, and she and her children become dependents of her brother-in-law, who lusts for Durga and wants her for himself. When she refuses, she is turned away. When her father-in-law attempts to bring her and the two sons home, he is killed by his son. Karan and Arjun go to avenge his death and their mother's humiliation, but they too are killed. Alone and sorrowful, Durga loses her mind and prays to the Hindu Gods to avenge her plight. About 20 years later, Durga comes across two young men who resembled her sons. When Durga's husband speaks out against the tyrannical rule of his brother, Durjan Singh, he is mercilessly killed, and Durga and her two children, Karan and Arjun, are left destitute.
