June Angela (born August 18, 1959) is an Asian American actress, singer, and dancer best known as Julie, the mainstay member of the Short Circus on the PBS children's television series The Electric Company.
June Angela received both Broadway's Tony Award and Drama Desk nominations as Best Leading Actress in a Musical for "Shogun." Extensive theater credits include Tuptim in the Broadway and London Palladium revivals of Rodgers & Hammerstein's King and I, The (1977) with Yul Brynner and winning a Theater Guild Award as Best Lead Actress for the play "Tea" in Los Angeles. She was honored by Off-Broadway's Pan-Asian Repertory Theater at a gala hosted by David Henry Hwang (I) and was featured on the Grammy Award-winning album of "Electric Company, The" (1971). She won an Emmy Award of Honor for her work on the series as well. Her debut solo CD released on Original Cast Records features a full orchestra on songs from shows she has done, including a medley from "The Electric Company," and jazz songs.
