John Denis Fraser (born June 30, 1934) was Labour Member of Parliament for Norwood in London from 1966 to 1997 and a solicitor.

Fraser was educated at Sloan Grammar School and the Law Society College of Law, becoming a solicitor. He was a councillor on Lambeth Borough Council 1962-65 and the London Borough of Lambeth from 1964. He was a founder member of the Co-operative (Housing) Development Society.

He was Under Secretary of State for Employment 1974-1976, and Minister of State at the Department of Prices & Consumer Protection 1976-1979.

He was very active in support of Greek prisoners held under the Colonels' Regime.

He is now retired.

He runs with dulwich running club.

His hobbies include cooking, running, playing piano.

He is a Roman Catholic and attends church every Sunday, also doing readings and attending meetings at the church.

He is married to Elizabeth MacCallum and has three daughters as well as an Irish terrier, Mollie Bloom. He is a committed Anglican and has served as both a Sunday school teacher and as rector's warden at his church, St. Clement's-Eglinton in Toronto. Currently, he is also Chair of the Canadian Journalism Foundation and teaches a course in Canadian newspaper history SMC311H1 at St. Michael's College at the U of T.

John Fraser (c. 1823 - June 4, 1878) was an American soldier and educator. He was the third president of the Pennsylvania State University, serving from 1866 until 1868.

Cromartie was born in Cromarty, Scotland, and studied at Aberdeen University. He graduated with a master's degree in mathematics. He emigrated to Bermuda to teach and then relocated to New York City to take charge of a private school. In 1851, he moved to western Pennsylvania and became professor of mathematics at Jefferson College.

During the American Civil War, he enlisted in the 140th Pennsylvania Infantry in 1862 and rose through the ranks to be the regiment's colonel. He fought at the Battle of Gettysburg in the Wheatfield area, taking charge of the 140th when all the senior officers were incapacitated. He was taken as a prisoner of war during the Siege of Petersburg and incarcerated in Charleston, South Carolina. He ended the war with the rank of brigadier general in the volunteer army.

John Fraser (1882 - 18 May 1945) was Jesus Professor of Celtic at the University of Oxford.

He was born in Inverness and studied at the University of Aberdeen, Trinity College Cambridge and the University of Jena. After lecturing in Celtic at Aberdeen University, he was appointed to the Oxford Professorship in 1921. He held the position until his death in 1945.

He had a particular research interest in Scottish Gaelic and Scottish place name studies, but left no substantial work beyond his many contributions to learned periodicals. His papers are now held by Aberdeen University.

In 1902, he was appointed Postmaster of Petrolia.

John Fraser (1750 – 26 April 1811) was a Scottish botanist, born at Tomnacross, the Aird, Inverness-shire. He moved to London, where he started work as a draper working with linen, but then, together with his son, took up botanical collecting, sending his collections to his plant nursery in London and to other clients, including the Tsar of Russia, the Chelsea Physic Garden, William Aiton (head gardener of Kew Gardens), and Sir James Edward Smith. He travelled extensively, collecting in Newfoundland and the Appalachian Mountains in eastern North America.

Species named after him include Abies fraseri (Fraser Fir) and Magnolia fraseri (Fraser Magnolia).

John Fraser (born 17 January 1978 in Dunfermline) is a Scottish footballer currently playing for Forfar Athletic. Fraser began his career with hometown club Dunfermline Athletic, before moving to Ross County

Fraser then joined Clyde, where he was an integral part of the midfield which almost won promotion to the Scottish Premier League.

Fraser was released by Clyde in 2004, and joined Stranraer, where he won promotion from the Scottish Second Division to the First, but he was released at the end of the season. He then joined Stirling Albion and once again won promotion from the Second Division, and subsequently released. Fraser then joined current club Forfar Athletic in July 2007.
