John Ennis (born May 6 1964) is an American actor and comic. He has been a regular cast member of Mr. Show with Bob and David (1995-1998), has played roles in Malcolm in the Middle and played a writer for the fictious comedy show at the center of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. More recently, Ennis took a small part in the film Zodiac as Terry Pascoe, protegé of the handwriting expert Sherwood Morrill.
In July 2006, Ennis joined with musician and filmmaker Andrew Jon Thomson to form a cowboy harmony western comedy musical group named Saddle Pals, in the spirit of 1930s movie singing cowboy groups such as Sons of the Pioneers and contemporaries such as Riders in the Sky.
He is also an acting teacher, having taught for several years at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Los Angeles. In the fall of 2007, John Ennis became the "Z" for a series of Wheel of Fortune commercials to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the show.
John Wayne Ennis (born October 17, 1979 in Montrose, Colorado) is a right-handed relief pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies organization. Ennis made his major league debut on April 10, , with the Atlanta Braves.
John pitched 4 innings in his first major league game; however, that one appearance was his only appearance for the Braves. John pitched 16 innings in 12 appearances for the Detroit Tigers in , posting an 8.44 ERA. John made his Philadelphia Phillies debut on August 26, , pitching three innings and getting his first career save. Ennis was designated for assignment by the Phillies on February 26, .
