Jim Stewart Hunter Morrison (born October 11, 1931 in Montreal, Quebec) is a retired former professional ice hockey defenceman, coach and scout. He played 704 National Hockey League games for the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins.
Morrison also played eight seasons with the Quebec Aces and three season with the Baltimore Clippers in the American Hockey League. Morrison won the Eddie Shore Award in 1965-66 as the league's outstanding defenceman.
After his retirement he briefly coached the Kitchener Rangers before moving behind the bench of the Kingston Canadians (later Kingston Frontenacs) for seven seasons. He later served 18 years as a scout in the Bruins organization before retiring.
James Forrest Morrison or Jim Morrison (born September 23, 1952 in Pensacola, Florida), is a former professional baseball player who played second and third base in the Major Leagues from 1977 to 1988. During his baseball career, Morrison played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago White Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, Detroit Tigers, and Atlanta Braves. He was Most Valuable Player for the Pirates in 1986.
From 1988 to 1990, Jim Morrison spent two seasons in Milan, Italy as the director for Mediolanum Milano; the Italian Baseball league started by Silvio Berlusconi.
After retiring from baseball, Morrison bought and ran a hotel in Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda, Florida which was rumored to have been a Frank Lloyd Wright design. The hotel was sold in 2003 and then destroyed in Hurricane Charley.
Jim Morrison is married to Nancy Morrison who owns and operates Nancy Elle Wellness; an organic skincare company. The couple has four children named Brook, James, Sarah and Molly. Brook provides consulting services for N.E.W. and their son, James Morrison plays minor league baseball; most recently for the Schomberg Flyers.
Currently, Jim Morrison is the manager of Vero Beach Devil Rays, a Class A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. Formerly, he was manager of the Columbus Catfish, another Rays Class A affiliate, and led them to the South Atlantic League Championship in 2007 .
James Douglas Morrison (December 8, 1943 – July 3, 1971) was an American singer, poet, songwriter, writer, and film director. He is best known as the lead singer and lyricist of The Doors, and is widely considered to be one of the most charismatic and influential frontmen in rock music.
