Jason Paul Taylor (born September 1, 1974 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is an American football defensive end for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League. He was originally drafted by the Dolphins in the third round of the 1997 NFL Draft. He played college football at Akron.
He attended the University of Akron. Jason Taylor has a total of 117 sacks (as of December 22, 2007), placing him third amongst currently active players. He has forced 41 fumbles in his career, recovered 26 fumbles, scored eight career defensive touchdowns, and he has been selected to six Pro Bowls. He has also won numerous awards in his career which include the 2006 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, and the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2007.
He is married to Katina Taylor, sister of former teammate Zach Thomas. Taylor also shares the same birthday with Thomas, although Taylor is one year younger. Taylor was featured in a pictorial, "Ten Sexiest Athletes", in 2001 by Sports Illustrated.
He will be competing on the sixth season of the ABC reality competition program, Dancing with the Stars.
Jason Taylor (born 2 February 1971) is a former professional rugby league player who held the record for most career points in the National Rugby League and its predecessors from his retirement in 2001 until 2006. He scored 2,107 first grade career points, which was surpassed by Andrew Johns in July 2006. Taylor still retains the record for most first grade career goals - 942.
Taylor played 276 games with 4 clubs: Wests from 1990 to 1993, Norths, 1994-1999, the Northern Eagles in 2000, and Parramatta in 2001. During this time he played 194 games in succession, also a record.
Predominantly a halfback, he also represented New South Wales in State of Origin in 1993.
On 15 May 2006, He was appointed as the Parramatta Eels coach for the remainder of the 2006 season after coach Brian Smith walked out on the club. From 2007 he was to join the South Sydney Rabbitohs as an assistant coach. In August 2006 it was announced he would replace Shaun McRae as head coach of the struggling club. In his first year at Souths he has taken them to a top eight finish qualifying them for the Finals Series. It is the first time since 1989 that Souths has qualified for the Finals Series.
