Janet Julian (also credited under her birth name Janet Louise Johnson, born July 10,1959 in Evanston, Illinois, U.S.) is an American actress who has starred in film and television. Janet got her big break when she won the role of Nancy Drew in the 1970s television series The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries when Pamela Sue Martin left the show in 1978. Her other well-known TV role came a year later on the cult TV show B.J. and the Bear as Tommy. She also starred on the evening soap opera Falcon Crest in 1989 as Cookie Nash. She was credited as Janet Louise Johnson in these early roles.
Janet's first film role was in the 1978 movie Big Wednesday; her other well-known film role was in the 1982 horror film Humongous.
She has made guest appearances on some TV shows, among them Battlestar Galactica, The Fall Guy, Miami Vice, Knight Rider, Fudge, and 240 Robert.
Janet Julian was the production secretary for the 1986 hit film Stand By Me.
Janet Louise Johnson grew up in North Hollywood, California. After attending UCLA for a year, she moved to New York to become a model. She appeared in television commercials and made a guest appearance on "Mike Douglas Show, The" (1961) modeling clothes. She got her big acting break when she auditioned and won the part of Nancy Drew, replacing Pamela Sue Martin. She has two older sisters and a younger sister.
