Jamie Donnelly (born 1947) is an American actress.
Born in Teaneck, New Jersey, Donnelly is best known as Jan from the film version of Grease. Nowadays Donnelly is an acting coach who lives in La Canada, California, with her husband Stephen Foreman and two children, Sevi and Madden Rose.
Five years before playing Jan in the Grease movie, she played Jan in the play on Broadway. Soon after, she quit the acting business for a while and lost her contract.
Later, she was in the United States premiere of The Rocky Horror Show starring as Magenta and the Usherette. She appeared on stage at the Roxy theatre in Los Angeles with Tim Curry and Meat Loaf in 1974, when the show opened. She is featured on the original Roxy cast recording in her role, singing the opening song Science Fiction/Double Feature. She went with most of the Roxy cast to reprise her roles on Broadway in 1975. Several years later she was called to read for Grease.
She was also in the original Broadway casts of "George M!" starring as Ethel Levey and "Flora the Red Menace" as the understudy to Liza Minnelli, also playing Lulu. She can be heard on the Original Cast Recordings for both of these shows.
She hasn't had many acting roles since Grease. As a coach, she has coached Caitlin Wachs of My Dog Skip and Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood.
Jamie Donnelly is an acting coach living in La Canada, California. She has a husband, Stephen Foreman, and two children, Sevi (b.1988) and Madden Rose (b.1990). Five years before playing Jan in the movie "Grease", she played Jan in the play. She soon quit the acting business after that role, though, because in the play she didn't think anyone liked her as Jan. Her contract was taken away and was not renewed. When she was called to read for the movie she was asked who she would like to read for. "Anyone but Jan", was the reply. Sure enough, they wanted her as Jan and if it weren't for her then there wouldn't be the legendary "Brusha, Brusha, Brusha" sung by Jan at the sleepover. Her only other movie after "Grease" is 1998's "Slappy and the Stinkers", in which she plays the Marine Information Woman.
