James Murdoch (born 13 December 1972 in United Kingdom ) is the head of News Corporation's European and Asian operations, including the British newspapers The Times, The Sun and The News of The World, and the chief non-executive chairman of British Sky Broadcasting. He is the fourth of billionaire media tycoon Rupert Murdoch's six children. He was formerly an executive vice-president of News Corporation, the controlling shareholder of BSkyB, and served on the boards of directors of News Datacom and of News Corporation.
James Murdoch (27 September 1856 – 30 October 1921) was a Scottish scholar and journalist, who worked as a teacher in Japan and Australia. From 1903–1917, he wrote a massive three-volume History of Japan, which was not published until 5 years after his death. It was the first comprehensive history of Japan in the English language.
