James Lesure (born September 21, 1975) is an American actor who portrays Mike Cannon on the TV series Las Vegas. His previous roles including playing Mel Ellis on For Your Love series and made a brief cameo in the horror sequel, The Ring 2. He is also known for his guest appearances on many different US TV series, including Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip, Seinfeld, Alias, NYPD Blue , The Drew Carey Show and Lost. An early movie appearance was in the thriller Crimson Tide where he played the credited role of a guard on board the Nuclear Submarine USS Alabama. He most recently co-starred as Clint, the horndog camera man in the indie romantic comedy, Loveless in Los Angeles. His awards include 2006 MVP of the NBAE League; Outstanding Actor in TV Drama at the Multicultural Prism Awards (2006); Distinguished Support Award from the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation of CA.

In addition to handsome looks and magnetic charm, Lesure has a firmly grounded personality. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, his path to Hollywood began with a few unexpected turns. Athletic, adventurous, and in search of his purpose, he served in the Air Force Academy before attending the University of Southern California where he received his B.F.A. in Theater. During his time at USC, he also studied abroad at the University of Kent in Canterbury, England. While there, he performed in the productions "Hair" and "The Island." In addition to performing abroad, he was able to fulfill a life long dream - becoming an amateur boxer. A natural both in front of the camera and on stage, Lesure has also worked in a professional theater company in Los Angeles, where he played the role of Macduff in Shakespeare's great tragedy "Macbeth." Perhaps best known for his role as Holly Robinson-Pete's husband on the series For Your Love, Lesure recently appeared in recurring roles on 'Alias' and 'The Division'. His other television credits also include guest starring roles on 'Seinfeld', 'NYPD Blue', 'Suddenly Susan','Mad About You', 'Martin', and 'The Burning Zone'. His expanding film career includes various independent productions and appearances in the hit features 'The Ring Two'and 'Crimson Tide'. A bachelor, Lesure resides in Los Angeles, California.
