James Cower Eckhouse (born February 14, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American actor best known for playing Jim Walsh on Beverly Hills, 90210. He was on the show from 1990 to 1995. James studied briefly at MIT before beginning his acting career. He has a wife and two sons and is currently living and working in Los Angeles. His oldest son is studying film at NYU.
Before his part on Beverly Hills 90210 James did cameos in such films as Trading Places and Cocktail starring Tom Cruise.
In 1972 he graduated from New Trier High School in Winnetka, Ilinois.

Had a bit role in Cocktail (1988) where he can be sitting at the Jamaican bar. He received no credit.
Has two sons, James Gabriel Eckhouse (Gabe) and John Alexander Eckhouse (Zander).
Jim Walsh, Eckhouse's character on "Beverly Hills, 90210" (1990), was ranked #41 in TV Guide's list of the "50 Greatest TV Dads of All Time" [20 June 2004 issue].
