William Gareth Jacob Busey, Jr. (born June 15, 1971), sometimes credited as Jacob Busey or William Busey, is an American actor/film producer and son of actor Gary Busey.

Born in Los Angeles, California but raised in Malibu, Busey spent his childhood on film sets and touring with bands that his father played in. He began considering his career choices at the age of five when he took up the two hobbies that grew into professions: acting and playing the drums. His motion picture debut was in the film Straight Time with his father and Dustin Hoffman.

Busey has since played in numerous standout performances, from the murderous religious fanatic opposite Jodie Foster in Contact to the smart-mouthed soldier in Starship Troopers. Additionally, he has had major roles in in Tomcats opposite Jerry O'Connell and Shannon Elizabeth and in James Mangold's thriller Identity.

He has also had minor parts in films like Christmas with the Kranks, I'll Do Anything, The Frighteners, Enemy of the State, and Twister. In 2008, he is set to play opposite to Chris Klein and Fred Durst in the film Play Dead.

Currently, Busey resides in Los Angeles where he writes and plays bass guitar for a band. He is also a licensed airplane pilot and spends several days a month flying.

Son of Gary Busey, who credits Jake with helping him conquer a serious cocaine habit, and with helping him recover from a near-fatal motorcycle accident.

Jake is an instrument rated private pilot, and owns his own 6 passenger plane, a piper Lance.

Plays the drums in various bands, as well as guitar and bass.

He and his father, Gary Busey, have both appeared in adaptations of John Grisham novels. Gary was in Firm, The (1993) and Jake appears in Christmas with the Kranks (2004).

During the filming of Starship Troopers (1997), Jake nearly suffered heatstroke so, underneath the armour on his costume, several large holes were cut into his shirt so he could cool off.

Shares birthday with Neil Patrick Harris, Helen Hunt (I), Shane Stanley, Ice Cube, Leah Remini and Courteney Cox.
