Isaach De Bankolé (born August 13, 1957) is an Ivorian actor.
He was born in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire; his parents came from Benin and his grandparents from Nigeria. He has appeared in over 30 films, including Jim Jarmusch's Night on Earth, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, and Coffee and Cigarettes. He has also appeared in Lars von Trier's Manderlay. He recently portrayed Steven Obanno, a terrorist, in the 2006 James Bond film Casino Royale.
In 2000, he married jazz singer Cassandra Wilson who he directed in the concert film Traveling Miles: Cassandra Wilson (2000).
Isaach De Bankole, C'sar award-winning actor, was born on the Ivory Coast. Isaach was discovered on the streets of Paris while studying to be an airline pilot. He has a degree in Acting from Cours Simon and a Masters in Mathematics from the Universite de Paris.
