For the British football commentator, see Ian Crocker (commentator)
Ian Lowell Crocker (born August 31, 1982 in Portland, Maine) is an American swimmer who won gold medals in both the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics as a member of national team in the 4x100 medley relay. Both teams set world records in the event. He trains six days a week, up to 12 km of swimming per day and is based at the University of Texas at Austin, where he trains alongside fellow world record holders Aaron Peirsol and Brendan Hansen under Eddie Reese. He is an alumnus of Cheverus High School.
Ian Crocker is a football commentator for Setanta Sports. Crocker is Setanta's lead commentator on their exclusive live coverage of the Scottish Premier League and also shares commentating duties with Jon Champion on Setanta's 46 live English Premier League games. Crocker has also commentated on UEFA Cup matches for Setanta.
Crocker joined Setanta from Sky Sports in 2006 after nearly a decade with the network. During that time Crocker was Sky's main commentator first on the Scottish Premier League between 1998 and 2002, then the English Football League from 2002 onwards. Crocker also commentated on the English Premier League and the UEFA Champions League during his time at Sky. In addition to his Sky Sports duties, he covered Premier League games for the Trans World International overseas feed.
When Crocker left in the summer of 2006, he was soon followed by fellow Sky Sports and talkSPORT commentator Jim Proudfoot.
