"I Believe" is the name of a song written by Ervin Drake, Irvin Graham, Jimmy Shirl and Al Stillman in 1953.
Songstress Jane Froman, troubled by the uprising of the Korean conflict in 1952 so soon after World War II, asked Drake, Graham, Shirl and Stillman to compose a song that would offer hope and faith to the populace. In addition to Jane Froman, "I Believe" has been recorded by many others, and has become both a popular and religious standard. The song holds the record for the most weeks spent as U.K. Number One.
"I Believe" is a single released by singer Marcella Detroit shortly after the break up of English duo Shakespear's Sister. Released in March 1994, it peaked at #11 in the UK, spending 8 weeks on the UK charts.
A cover version was German singer Joana Zimmer's debut single. It was a European hit in 2005, reaching #2 in Germany, and she performed it at the Live 8 concert in Berlin.
"I Believe" is a single by American country music group Diamond Rio that reached the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. It was the second single from the band's 2002 album Completely.
