"I Am Mine" is the first single from Pearl Jam's seventh studio album, Riot Act. The single was released on October 8, 2002 with a B-side titled "Down", which can also be found on Lost Dogs. Some versions of the single also contain "Bu$hleaguer" and "Undone". The band played this song when they appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman in November 2002 in support of Riot Act. The song peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. The song was included on Pearl Jam's greatest hits album, Rearviewmirror: Greatest Hits 1991-2003.
The song was written by frontman Eddie Vedder in a hotel room before the band's first show after the Roskilde tragedy in 2000. Drummer Matt Cameron on the song:
The song's live debut took place at Neil Young's 2001 Bridge School Benefit. A live performance of "I Am Mine" can be found on the Live at the Gorge 05/06 box set. Performances of the song are also included on the DVDs Live at the Showbox and Live at the Garden.
