I'm Alive is a song by the Electric Light Orchestra, released as a single in May 1980. It is featured in the feature film Xanadu (in its opening sequence). The song also appears on the soundtrack album Xanadu. The song is heard as the Muses emerge from a graffiti-like portrait; Olivia Newton John, playing Kira, emerges last. The song has been recently updated in the version of Xanadu on Broadway.
Included in the song's closing coda is Morse code which spells out "ELO."
"I'm Alive" is the second commercial single from Céline Dion's A New Day Has Come album. It was released on August 12 2002.
The song was written and produced by Kristian Lundin and Andreas Carlsson who already worked with Céline Dion in 1999 on "That's the Way It Is." It's a theme song from the Stuart Little 2 movie.
"I'm Alive" music video was directed by Dave Meyers between May 24-25, 2002 and premiered on June 10 2002. There are two versions: with or without the Stuart Little 2 movie scenes.
"I'm Alive" became a worldwide hit, reaching number one in Poland (for five weeks), Hong Kong and Canadian Adult Contemporary chart, and hitting top ten in most countries. It was certified platinum in Belgium (50,000) and gold in France (250,000).
Dion performed this song five nights a week during her show A New Day... at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. Live version was included on the A New Day... Live in Las Vegas album in 2004.
