"Hurt" is a song written by Trent Reznor, first released on Nine Inch Nails's 1994 album The Downward Spiral. In 2002, "Hurt" was covered by Johnny Cash to critical acclaim; it was Cash's final hit released before his death. Its accompanying video, featuring images from Cash's life and directed by Mark Romanek, was named the best video of the year by the Grammy Awards and Country Music Awards.
"Hurt" is the second single written by Christina Aguilera, Linda Perry and Mark Ronson for Aguilera's third album Back to Basics (2006). The song's lyrical content describes how one deals with the loss of a loved one, and it has received praise from pop music critics. Aguilera premiered the song at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards and was released as the album's second single in late 2006 (see 2006 in music).
"Hurt" is the 3rd single from T.I.'s fifth studio album T.I. vs. T.I.P.. It features Busta Rhymes. Production comes from Danja. The video premiered on BET's 106 & Park on October 3, 2007. The song wasn't as successful as his previous singles from the album, peaking only at #89 Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, even the unofficial single "Touchdown" received more airplay. Alfamega and Busta Rhymes performed the song at the BET Hip Hop Awards.
