Hot Rod is a Paramount Pictures movie written by Pam Brady and directed by Akiva Schaffer; starring Andy Samberg, Sissy Spacek, Jorma Taccone, Will Arnett, Danny R. McBride, Ian McShane, Isla Fisher, and Bill Hader. It was originally written with Will Ferrell in mind (he is credited as executive producer). The film was released in America on August 3, 2007. It has been rated PG-13 by the MPAA for crude humor, language, and some comic drug-related and violent content. Andy Samberg confirmed that there are plans for a sequel to be released, late 2008.
David Langham (James Lydon), the youngest son of a hot-rod hating father, Judge Langham (Art Baker), buys an old jalopy but, out of respect for his father, doesn't convert it. He changes his mind when Jack Blodgett (Tommy Bond), the local speed demon, impresses David's girl, Janie Pitts (Gloria Winters), and David makes his car the fastest in town. Jack steals David's hot rod, and flees the scene of an accident he causes. The car is traced back to David, but the truth comes out in court, although David's father is still unhappy about the car...until David and his friend, Swifty Johnson (Gil Stratton Jr.), use it to apprehend some escaping robbers. The Judge decides to back a movement for building a hot-rod race track for the town. Written by Les Adams
One of the earliest hot rod movies. A teenager loves hot rods! His father is the town judge and he hates 'em! Eventually the teen gets a '32 roadster. But when one of his high school hot rod pals shuts him down while on a date with his best chick, it's a total put down and he retaliates by souping up his rod! Trouble ensues. Then redemption and a happy ending! Cool scenes: five car hot rod street race and footage of dry lakes racing at El Mirage. James Lydon, Art Baker, Gil Strattion, Gloria Winters, Myron Healy, Tommy Bond ("Butch" from "Our Gang" series). Written by T. Bond II

First, he and his crew have to raise money to rent the buses and build the ramp. Trouble is, Rod's inept at his chosen career. Looming failure is complicated by the return home from college of Denise, Rod's next-door neighbor and secret heartthrob. Is public humiliation at hand? Written by
