"Hold You Down" is the second and final single from Jennifer Lopez's fourth studio album, Rebirth (2005). Released in 2005, the single — which features rapper Fat Joe — peaked at number sixty-four on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and at number six in the UK. Also there is an "Eliel Remix" featuring Don Omar, which did well on reggaeton and hip-hop radio stations. The song also appears on Fat Joe's sixth studio album All or Nothing.
Although the song didn't achieve the same success as "Get Right", it was a modest success in some parts of the world. The song was produced mainly by Cory Rooney, who has worked with Lopez in the past. However, many people blamed "Hold You Down"'s choice as a single for Rebirth's average sales. Hold You Down heavily samples Shirley Murdock's 80's hit "As We Lay".
"Hold You Down" was the first single released by The Alchemist from his album 1st Infantry. It featured Prodigy, Illa Ghee, and Nina Sky. The song contains a sample from Al Kooper's "Love Theme From The Landlord." It became a hit in 2005, peaking at number ninety-five on the Billboard Hot 100, but attaining a higher peak on Billboard's R&B chart.
