Hilarie Ross Burton (born July 1, 1982) is an American actress. She is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Peyton Sawyer on The CW Television Network (previously The WB Network) television series One Tree Hill.
Burton rose to stardom with her leading roles in the films Our Very Own, Solstice and The List (film).Burton hosted MTV's Total Request Live, which led to a starring role as Peyton Sawyer on The CW Television Network (previously The WB Network) television series One Tree Hill.
Hilarie was born and raised in Sterling Park, Virginia. She is the oldest of four children and describes her family as tight-knit. Hilarie developed a passion for acting early in life. Shortly after moving to New York to go to school and pursuing her acting dream, she landed the coveted job of VJ at MTV. She won a guest spot interviewing on the red carpet for MTV and did so well she ended up with a job.
