The song features vocals by Harlem-based R'n'B singer Boostylz, guest Punjabi vocalist Romesh Chohan, and was produced by _DJ Swami.
This was the second track to be promo'd from the album, after Electro Jugni and was premiered on MySpace on August 1st, 2007.
Electro Jugni was intended to build buzz for the album before Hey Hey drops as the main track. The major label re-release of Equalize contained a different version of Electro Jugni featuring Swedish Latina pop singer DeDe Lopez which is planned to be the second video single.
As of Saturday 29th September, Hey Hey has been number 1 for 3 consecutive weeks on the BBC Asian Network chart, and has been played over a million times on the band's MySpace page.
The music video premiered in October 2007 on YouTube.
