Greg Travis is an actor and stand-up comedian based in the U.S.. He created the character of David Sleaze, The Punk Magician, in which he puts on a punk rock-style wig and does a variety of bad magic tricks using audience participation. Part of the gimmick is that the trick inevitably fails, leading his character to exclaim, "Fuck you! It's magic!". He has made appearances on several late night television shows.
Greg's most current appearance was in the direct-to-video movie, Night Creep (2003).His most recent films are Jack Satin (2005), and Mortuary (2005).
He is the brother of actress Stacey Travis.
Greg Travis has appeared in over 28 feature films. He has the chameleonlike ability to play a wide range of characters, from a crippled real estate agent to a perverted Las Vegas club owner. From tough cops to sensitive flower salesmen, he can change his voice and appearance so profoundly that one might not always recognize him, yet he is unforgettable as the characters he portrays. Greg has worked with such A-list directors as Bob Rafelson, Milos Forman, David Lynch (I) and Paul Verhoeven (I). As a filmmaker, he has written and directed 20 short films and videos, among them "Dark Seduction" and Night Creep (2003) (V). He's currently developing two other film projects entitled "The Spoiler" and "Bofugly". Greg also produced and starred in a theatrical production called "America the Bizarre" where he played seven different characters in full make-up and costume, ending with a dead on impression of Richard Buckley (I), aka "Lord Buckley". He also received great reviews for his portrayal of Andy Warhol in the stage play "Girl of the Year". As a stand-up comedian Greg has appeared on "Evening at the Improv, An" (1982), "Saturday Night Live" (1975) and "Rodney Dangerfield's HBO Special", where he performed his trade mark character David Sleaze the Punk Magician. Greg has headlined at most of the top comedy clubs in the country as well as opening up for such stars as Cher (I), Tom Jones (I) and Dolly Parton. With 20 years experience as an actor, comedian and filmmaker, Greg Travis brings a tremendous amount of originality and creativity to every project he is involved with.
