Gram flour is a flour made from ground chickpeas. It is also known as chana flour (Indian), besan (Indian), kadala maavu (Tamil), kadale hittu (Kannada), chickpea flour and garbanzo flour (Spanish). Used in many countries, it is a staple ingredient in Indian cuisine, and, in the form of a paste with water or yoghurt, a popular facial exfoliant in India and Pakistan. Gram flour contains a high proportion of carbohydrates but no gluten.

Although pronounced similarly, gram flour is unrelated to graham flour.
