Alonzo Mathis, better known by his stage name Gorilla Zoe a.k.a. HOOD NIGGA, is an American hip hop artist from Atlanta, Georgia. A member of the Bad Boy Records group Boyz n da Hood, in which he replaced Young Jeezy , Mathis first saw success backing up Yung Joc on songs including Coffee Shop and Bottle Poppin', which charted under several Billboard categories . His first solo album, Welcome to the Zoo, was released in October of 2007, which peaked at #18 on the Billboard Top 200, #3 on Top Rap Albums, and #8 on Top R&B Albums.
