Going Back to Cali is a song by Biggie Smalls from his album Life After Death. It was released alongside Sky's the Limit which peaked at #26 in the U.S.
Fans say the song is one of the tracks that added fuel to the west coast/east coast fire, although others, including P. Diddy, have stated that was never the intention. Nevertheless, the following lyrics were thought to be a big turning point in the infamous feud.
"If I got to choose a coast I got to choose the East I live out there, so don't go there But that don't mean a nigga can't rest in the West See some nice breasts in the West Smoke some nice sess in the West, y'all niggaz is a mess Thinkin I'm gon stop, givin L.A. props All I got is beef with those that violate me I shall annihilate thee."
"Going Back to Cali" is a song from LL Cool J's album Walking with a Panther. It was his second top 40 pop hit after "I Need Love", peaking at number 31. The song was also featured on the soundtrack to the movie Less Than Zero. In 2004, rapper Fat Joe of Terror Squad had sampled this song on there single "Take Me Home". The song Hey Baby (Jump Off) by Bow Wow featuring Omarion samples "Going Back to Cali".
