"Girls" is a song written by David Bowie and Erdal Kizilcay in 1986 for Tina Turner, who recorded it for her 1986 album Break Every Rule.
Bowie later recorded two different versions of the song during the Never Let Me Down sessions, one with vocals in English and another with vocals in Japanese. Both versions appeared as B-sides for different formats of the "Time Will Crawl" single in 1987.
"Girls" was the sixteenth single released by the British electronic band The Prodigy on 30 August 2004. It was the first single from the album Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned. "Girls" peaked at number 19 on the British charts.
The single's music video was directed by Mat Cook and Julian House, who also designed the artwork for the album and single. It featured experimental computer graphics with various psychedelic themes.
The sample used in the hook is re-made but taken from the Broken Glass single "Style of the Street"
"The Girls" is the second single of Scottish-born electronica musician Calvin Harris. It was released on June 4, 2007, and precedes the release of his debut album, I Created Disco. "The Girls" is Harris's highest charting single on the Official UK Top 40 and has currently peaked at #2 on iTunes UK. The track has received huge airplay on BBC Radio 1. As of 10 June 2007, "The Girls" has reached a peak of #3 on the Official UK Top 40. A "bootleg" version of this song leaked on file sharing a several months before I Created Disco was released. The song has been covered by electropop outfit Dragonette, who changed the main lyric to "The Boys".

The music video, directed by Little X, premiered on June 7th on Tempo TV. Before the video was aired, a "behind-the-scenes" video was exclusively aired to Tempo on the same day.
