Eugene "Gene" Reynolds Blumenthal (born April 4, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio) is a former actor turned writer and producer/director.
Gene grew up in Detroit, Michigan and spent the first ten years of his life there. His father was a businessman and entrepreneur named Frank Eugene Blumenthal. He is married to Ann Sweeny Reynolds and has a son, Andrew Reynolds.
Gene Reynolds' most prominent work includes his writing on the TV series M*A*S*H from 1972 to 1977.
He quit acting to become a producer-director.

As a boy, was an actor in the movie Adventure in Washington (1941) along with friend, actor Tommy Bond (I) who also was "Butch" the bully in the original "Little Rascals".
