The Gdynia trolleybus system is one of three remaining trolleybus operations in Poland (along with Lublin and Tychy). The system was opened on September 18 1943. Today consists of 12 lines (numbers from 20 to 31). Two lines (21 and 31) extends to the adjoining town of Sopot. As of 2007 the system consists of 86 12-meters trolleybuses. System is operated by Przedsiębiorstwo Komunikacji Trolejbusowej (Trolleybus Transport Company) working under commission of Zarząd Transportu Miejskiego (Public Transport Bureau).
