Gary Day (born June 27 1965) is a British bass guitar player. He was best known for playing bass for Morrissey and is particularly noticeable for his tattoos.
Day originally played for Morrissey from 1991 until he was fired 1994. He was then re-hired in 1999 for Morrissey's Oye Esteban tour. He remained the band's bassist until he parted ways at the end of the 2006 tour, with the intention of working on his own material. Day did not participate in any of Morrissey's recording sessions' in 2007.
Day's own group, "The Gazmen" (which feature fellow Morrissey guitarist Alain Whyte) has recently released a song, 'Kid From Mars'. The group has also released a single in Japan entitled 'Rigamortis Rock'. Aside from working on his own project, Day is also a frequent DJ.
Throughout his career, he has played with a number of London-based rockabilly bands including The Caravans, The Frantic Flintstones, Colbert Hamilton, The Nitros and The Sharks.
Recently Gary has been playing with the group Empress of Fur .
Gary Day (born 1941 in Christchurch, New Zealand) is an actor who has appeared in Australian television police drama series, including Homicide and Murder Call.
