When readers apply for a subscription, 100% of the money goes to a non-profit charity of the readers choice. So far $522,940 has been raised for charity. Good Magazine has made 35 web videos of topics such as nuclear transparency to globalization, which are quite popular on youtube, getting over 1,200+ subscribers. For the one year anniversary, GOOD Magazine held a block party in San Francisco.
The magazine was founded by Ben Goldhirsh, son of entrepreneur and Inc. magazine creator Bernie Goldhirsh.
