Feels Just Like It Should is the first single off Jamiroquai's 2005 album, Dynamite. Produced by Mike Spencer and Jay Kay. The track incorporates a bass line created by Kay as a human beatbox, a sample of which was first created during the recording of the band's 2001 album, A Funk Odyssey.
It reached number 8 in the UK charts, but first week sales of the single paled in comparison to the previous album's lead single, "Little L". Whereas the disco-electronic hybrid sold more than 40,000 copies, "Feels Just Like It Should" was able to crack only the 10,000-sold plateau in its opening week. It is agreed upon in some fan circles that this track is the most polarizing song in the history of the band's 13-year career; some fans have fallen in love with it, others have absolutely loathed it.
This track has been used by the BBC's advertising for the 2005 Children in Need appeal, which features Terry Wogan breakdancing to the song, was included in the computer football (soccer) game FIFA 06, and was featured in Need for Speed: Most Wanted as a remix by Timo Maas. It has also been used in a Cingular Music and Payless ShoeSource commercial, and is available as a playable song in the X-box 360 game, Dance Dance Revolution Universe. It was also used during a game montage for the XBox 360 during E3 2006.
