The Ezhavas or Izhavas or Thiyyas are the largest Hindu community in Kerala, South India. They are also found amongst the Malayalee diaspora around the world. The group shares a common history from the pre-social reform era, when caste was an integral part of the political, economic, legal, and social order across Kerala. Ezhavas are classified under Other backward castes by the Indian government .
