Ellen Anna Muth (born March 6, 1981 in Milford, Connecticut. ) is an American actress, best known for her role as Georgia "George" Lass in Showtime's short-lived series Dead Like Me. She is a member of Intertel and Mensa.

Not only is Ellen an actress but she is a member of Mensa, a student at the Lee Strasberg School, drives and races a six speed SS and collects Burmese cats. Her awards include Best Actress at the AFI for Young Girl and the Monsoon, The (1999) and best supporting actress at the Japanese Film Festival for Dolores Claiborne (1995). Her father, Dr. Erich Muth, was national optician of the year, has an entire museum named after him, has written numerous books on optics from which he donates the profits to The Erich Muth Scholarship; there is a section in the Smithsonian Museum donated by him. Her mother, Rachel Muth, helped make it possible for Ellen to be an actress, by taking her to all her auditions until she was 18.

Muth became interested in acting as a child and started studying to be an actor at age 10. At 14, she received acclaim starring as the young Selena in the Stephen King (I)-based film, Dolores Claiborne (1995) starring Kathy Bates (I) and Jennifer Jason Leigh. After "Dolores Claiborne", Muth appeared on stage in the off-Broadway production "Nine Armenians", before taking time off from acting to finish school. Since then she has been seen in such features as Rain (2001/IV) written and directed by Katherine Lindberg, and Gentleman's Game, A (2001), directed by J. Mills Goodloe. She got her first starring role as Constance in Young Girl and the Monsoon, The (1999), which earned her the AFI Los Angeles International Film Festival Best Actress Award in 1999. On TV she has credits which include two episodes of "Law & Order" (1990), the television movies Two Against Time (2002) (TV) and Truth About Jane, The (2000) (TV). She also appeared in the miniseries Superfire (2002) (TV) and Only Love (1998) (TV).
