Edwin C. (Eddie) Reese (born July 23, 1941) is the Men's Swimming & Diving Head Coach at the University of Texas at Austin, and has been since 1978. He has also been named the Men's Head Coach for the USA's 2008 Olympic Swimming Team. He served in this same position for the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 1992 Barcelona Olympics; as well as assistant coach at the 1992, 1996 and 2000 Olympics.
Reese has been named NCAA Coach of the Year eight times and has led Texas to nine NCAA team titles, including three in the last six years.
Most notably, currently (May 2007) Reese coaches three individual long course world record holders. His elite swimmers include Ian Crocker, Brendan Hansen, Neil Walker and Aaron Peirsol. Reese was inducted into the _International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF) as an Honor Coach in 2002. His brother, Randy, also a swimming coach, was inducted in 2005.
