Ed, Edd n Eddy is an animated television series created by Danny Antonucci and produced by Canadian based a.k.a. Cartoon for Cartoon Network. The series, which was Cartoon Network's sixth Cartoon Cartoon, was first aired in 1999. It is currently the longest-running original cartoon on Cartoon Network. It airs in many countries of the world, but oddly, not in its native Canada. Originally, there were only going to be four seasons; however, Cartoon Network ordered two more, giving the series a total of six seasons. However, the sixth season has been postponed, as the crew is working on a TV movie.
The Eds (along with all the other characters) go to Peach Creek Jr. High, as seen in Hanky Panky Hullabaloo.
The titles of each episode contain the word "Ed" (O-ed Eleven, An Ed is Born, Dim Lit Ed, For Your Ed only, to name a few.)
In the episode named "A Twist of Ed", a book is shown in a frame. The book is written by Kent Webb, a reference to the screenplay artist Kent Webb.
In a few episodes, Eddy mentions that he has an older brother which we never see.
As revealed in the episode "Your Ed Here", Eddy's middle name is "Skipper". Edd also later reveals that his middle name is "Marian". Their last names are still unknown.
In the episode "Your Ed Here", it is revealed that the name of the cul-de-sac is Rathink Ave, and Eddy lives at number 220. (This is revealed on his student ID, which also shows him to be 12 years old.)
In "Smile for the Ed", Ed reveals that his middle name is Horace.
All episodes of the initial four-season run (excluding the holiday specials) take place in the summertime. Season 5 takes place in autumn.
Was the last major animated TV series to use conventional cel animation. When the show was renewed for two more seasons, the studio switched to digital ink-and-paint and compositing.
