Ebenezer Blackadder is one of the many Blackadder ancestors from the BBC sitcom of the name. Unlike his ancestors, however, he is the only member of the Blackadder family whose name is not Edmund to feature in the television shows.
He is a Victorian moustache-shop owner, and he is the most generous and kind man in England, though his kindness is often abused by everyone around him, from beggars to his own god-daughter. However after a visitation from a Christmas spirit he is corrupted by the revelation that the ruthless pursuit of power will probably prove more rewarding (such as the fact his descendant will become Emperor of the universe if he's evil, and a slave if he's good). Consequently he begins to display the brutal cruelty, selfishness and cynicism usually associated with his family. This however backfires after he insults Queen Victoria, missing out on a hefty reward for his former kindness. He is the grandson of Mr. E. Blackadder, and Grandpa of Captain Blackadder. Although his grandfather became George IV of the United Kingdom, he is not in a royal position, being presumably descended from an affair his grandfather had before his elevation to royal status.
