Double Dare was an American television game show, produced by Mark Goodson - Bill Todman Productions, that ran from 1976 to 1977 on CBS. Alex Trebek was the host, with Johnny Olson and later Gene Wood announcing. The show was created by Jay Wolpert. Double Dare was Alex Trebek's only CBS game show, with all others originally airing either on NBC, in syndication or in Canada (he also only hosted one show for ABC, the Super Jeopardy! special tournament in 1990).
Double Dare is a documentary film about stuntwomen, specifically Jeannie Epper and Zoë Bell, directed by Amanda Micheli. The documentary follows Epper and Bell over several years, Epper from 1997 and Bell from the end of Xena: Warrior Princess in 2001, to 2003.http://www.pbs.org/independentlens/doubledare/qa.html
Hosted by Alex Trebek, this game show challenged both the knowledge and the nerves of the contestants. The two competitors, a returning champion and an upcoming challenger, would be locked in isolation booths and shown clues for an unknown person, place or thing. When one contestant gives a correct answer, he would then be given the choice of keeping the money, or daring his opponent to answer the question. If the opponent gave the correct answer, he would take all the prize money. If he were wrong, however, the first contestant would get double the prize money. Written by Jean-Marc Rocher
e Bell: So you're an actor? rry Frick (Photographer): Yeah, but I'm about to quit. I think I'm going to quit. e Bell: Oh yeah? Why's that? rry Frick (Photographer): I can't, I've been living in London as well, I can't breathe, everybody knows me there, and I hate it. e Bell: Over here they know you? Or over there? rry Frick (Photographer): Over there, yeah I need to quit now before the momentum really starts going, and then it's like once you get the fame thing, you never own your life again. e Bell: Oh...
e Bell: [Speaking of Lucy Lawless/Xena] That's my acting double.
