Donald S. Knight (April 9, 1942—) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1985 to 1987, as a member of the Liberal Party.
Knight was born in Meaford, Ontario, and attended the University of Waterloo. He worked as an insurance broker, and was a councillor in Milton from 1980 to 1985. Knight was a member of the Optimist Club of Milton and the Murton Lodge of Perfection.
He was elected to the Ontario legislature in the 1985 provincial election for Halton—Burlington, defeating Progressive Conservative candidate Peter Pomeroy by 214 votes. The Liberal Party formed a minority government after the election, and Knight served as parliamentary assistant to the Chair of the Management Board of Cabinet in 1987. He did not seek re-election in the 1987 campaign.
Knight has remained active with Ontario's network of Optimist Clubs since leaving politics.
Donald Knight (February 16, 1933 - August 18, 1997) was an English movie, television, and stage actor.
Born in Manchester, United Kingdom, Knight moved to North America where he studied at Sir George Williams University in Montreal, Canada, and later Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.. Knight was also an ordained minister, and during his acting career he also served as pastor at many churches.
In 1965 he moved to California to pursue acting, and was primarily a character actor, making numerous guest appearances in television series such as Hawaii Five-O, Kojak, and It Takes a Thief, as well as semi-regular roles in series such as The Immortal.
Knight died on August 18, 1997 in Squaw Valley, California.
Don Knight (I) studied for the Ordained Ministry in Montreal Canada and Washington D.C.. With his young family, he moved to California in 1965. While pursuing his acting career, he continued to serve churches. Don was the proud father of two (daughter and son) from his first marriage. He is best known for his "cold killer" roles but enjoyed playing likeable characters as well. In addition to being placed for Emmy nomination for episodic television, he won five awards for stage.
