A rich man's daughter runs away from her father's yacht to go to her betrothed, a movie star, however, on the way falls in love with another man. A romantic movie for a change, with absolutely fabulous songs: "O mere sapnon ke saudagar mujhe aaisi jagha ley jao, pyar hi pyar ho jis jagha, mujhe aaisa jahan dikhaoo..."; "Dil hai ke maanta nahin, yeh bekarari kyon ho rahi hai, yeh janta nahin..."; "Aadayen bhi hai, muhobat bhi hai, najakat bhi hai, mere mehboob mein, woh diwanapan, woh mausumiyat, shararat bhi hai, mere mehboob mein..." and more. Pooja is the only daughter of a shipping tycoon Seth Dharamchand in Bombay. She is head over heels in love with a movie star Deepak Kumar. When her father strongly disapproves of their marriage, she jumps from their family yacht and escapes. She has to reach Bangalore anyhow because Deepak is on a shooting there. Meanwhile her father has sent private detectives to look for her. She manages to elude them, and boards a crowded inter-state bus to Bangalore. In the bus she encounters a smart loud-mouth reporter Raghu Jetley who has just lost his job. On the way he finds out the truth about her. He offers to help her in exchange for an exclusive story on her. She has to accept his help or he would blow the whistle on her to her father. Their adventures begin here. After many hitch-hikes, nightly shelters, the out-of-luck reporter and runaway heiress find themselves more and more in love with each other. Raghu is afraid of expressing his feelings as he is in financially no condition to propose a rich girl. He had expected to get only an juicy story from her for his newspaper but never her heart. What is he going to do now? Written by Nisha Jetley
