The Thousand Eyes of Dr. Mabuse (Die tausend Augen des Dr. Mabuse) is a 1960 film made in West Germany. It is the last film of Fritz Lang and concerned the further exploits of Dr. Mabuse, a character Lang had used in two previous films in 1922 and 1933.

The movie, based on the novel Mr. Tot buys a thousand eyes by the Polish author Jean Forge, brought the story into the contemporary times and combined elements of Edgar Wallace films, spy fiction and Big Brother surveillance with the nihilism of the Mabuse world.

Wiesbaden. La polizia criminale è in allarme per una serie di delitti misteriosi che hanno come punto in comune l'albergo Luxor. L'opinione pubblica vede negli avvenimenti la mano dello scomparso dottor Mabuse. Il commissario Kras indaga sullo strano omicidio, avvenuto con un ago di acciaio, del telecronista Barter (fatto denunciato dal cieco chiaroveggente Cornelius) e, durante l'inchiesta, scopre che il defunto aveva appena lasciato l'appartamento occupato al Luxor da Marion Menil, che tenta il suicidio lanciandosi dal cornicione dell'albergo, ma viene tratta in salvo dal suo vicino di camera, il miliardario Americano Travers. In seguito il poliziotto invita alcune persone, tra cui Marion, Cornelius e l'assicuratore Mistelweig, a chiamarlo al telefono ad una certa ora; ma il telefono esplode ed uccide un agente. Reporter Peter Barter gets murdered while driving to his tv station. Commisioner Kras gets a phone call from clairvoyant Cornelius who saw Barters death in a vision. But a dark force prevents Cornelius from seeing the man behind the crime. Meanwhile the policemen concentrate their activities on the hotel Luxor. There exist too many links between the hotel and the unsolved crimes. Trevors, a rich American, rents a room in the hotel at the same time. He can prevent the suicide of the young woman Marion Menil at the last minute. But what is the reason for Miss Menils doing? Why is she initimidated?
