Dennis Morgan (December 20, 1908 - September 7, 1994) was an American actor-singer.
In 1945, he played the part of Jefferson Jones in the holiday classic Christmas in Connecticut opposite Barbara Stanwyck. He also starred in such films as God Is My Co-Pilot and the 1943 film version of The Desert Song. He was Ginger Rogers's love interest in the films Kitty Foyle and Perfect Strangers. Morgan was a leading man with Warner Bros in the 1940s, starring with best friend Jack Carson in many movies, several of which were " two guys" buddy pictures. His peak years were 1943 to 1949.
Morgan's film persona was an easy-going, good-natured ladies man in the best sense. He played good guys, never villains. A solid "Irish" tenor voice graced parts of his films (though he was actually of Swedish descent).
Morgan appeared in sporadic TV guest roles in the 1950s, then quietly retired with an occasional spot on TV after 1955. He has a star on Hollywood Blvd., but is today a little-known figure from the Golden Age of Film.
Dennis Morgan (born June 26, 1952 in White Plains, New York) was an American football running back in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles. He played college football at Western Illinois University.
Dennis Morgan (born July 30, 1952 in Tracy, Minnesota) is a songwriter and music publisher, famous for writing songs for Aretha Franklin , Faith Hill, and Eric Clapton and publishing hit songs for Garth Brooks, All-4-One, and Trisha Yearwood
Morgan's career as a songwriter started as a session musician in Nashville, and his first songwriting success was "Sleeping Single In A Double Bed", a #1 hit for Barbara Mandrell back in 1978. As a result, he and cowriter Kye Fleming were nominated for a Grammy. His partnership with Fleming also yielded more hits for Mandrell ("I Was Country, When Country Wasn't Cool"), fellow country artists Sylvia ("Nobody"), Ronnie Milsap ("Smoky Mountain Rain") and Steve Wariner ("All Roads Lead To You").
Dennis and cowriter Simon Climie have had hits on pop artists like Climie Fisher ("Love Changes Everything") and Aretha Franklin ("I Knew You Were Waiting For Me").
Morgan was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Association International Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2004.
