Deborah Theaker (born April 6, 1964) is a Canadian actress.
Theaker is best known as Casey Edison on the Lucasfilm science fiction satire Maniac Mansion which ran from 1990 until 1993. In 1985, Theaker graduated from the University of Saskatchewan and later moved to Toronto where she became a member of The Second City's resident company. Since 1987, She has played roles in various television shows and movies including The Kids in the Hall, Joey, Desperate Housewives, Entourage, Bones,and Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events as well as the Stargate SG-1 season eight episode, Citizen Joe. She is a member of Christopher Guest's cinematic repertory company and has appeared in four films and multiple commercials for director Guest.
She was married to Darren Boyce (divorced December 15, 1995).
Deb was born in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan but spent her formative years in Esterhazy , Saskatchewan (Potash capital of the world) where her Dad served as the mayor and local mortician. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan and relocated to Toronto where she became a member of Second City's resident Company.During her years onstage there, Deb won a Dora (Canada's equivalent of the Tony) for writing and performing in "Not Based on Anything by Stephen King". She starred alongside Joe Flaherty in the critically acclaimed Lucasfilm series, "Maniac Mansion" (1990) which was hailed by Time magazine as "a comic gem". Deb also wrote for the series, a quirky satire about genetic mutation which was the brainchild of Eugene Levy and George Lucas. She was nominated for a cable Ace award as best actress in a series for her work on the show. She has appeared on "Ellen" as the straight friend who tags along on Ellen's first date with her girlfriend, Laurie...on "Curb Your Enthusiasm", she played the caterer Larry fights for the leftovers. She was the head of a gang of Lucy impersonators in Jerry Zucker's Rat Race (2001). She appears currently onscreen in Mighty Wind, A (2003) as the weepy Naiomi Steinbloom. Deb is a gifted visual artist and designer off-camera.
